No matter what your role in the Paralymipc community, you've probably noticed that the general public is extremely uneducated about the very nature of the Games. Although the Paralympics are the second largest sporting event in the world, many people confuse these international competitions with the Special Olympics and others have never even heard of the Paralymipcs!
American media hasn't yet broadcast the Paralympic Games except for a short two hour documentary shown weeks after Athens on an obscure cable channel. Many people would like to change this, but there's plenty of other work to be done if awareness about the Paralympics is to be spread. This club will discuss our own efforts to get the message out about the Paralymipcs to both the general public and other young athletes with disabilities. Share resources, network, and keep the Paralympic spirit alive!
