Description

Here's a place to talk as informally or formally as you feel comfortable about the topic of when disability and sex collide! I have a research background in trying to better understand society's perception of us as sexual beings as well as investigating access issues-like how woman with disabilities are treated when they visit the doctor. I'll try to keep my own research ramblings to a minimum-unless someone else is interested. I'm sure we can all learn from each other. No question is too silly and no offer of support is too small.

Hi, everyone. Kara has suggested that I post an invitation for you all to contribute to a project I've started, called Kissability. (See the forum below.)

Have you done research online about ways to control your bladder to allow for sex, or have you discussed this with your doctor? There has to be a way to make it happen!!

This is embarrassing but does anyone have bladder problems because of their disability? I do and it makes me sooo self conscious. I want to have sex but I cant because of my bladder. It's so frustrating!

I have asked doctors about problems with sex that I have, but they all blush and change the topic. Since I am basically asking about medical technical problems that non-medical professionals don't understand it is frustrating to not be able to get feedback because others are not comfortable talking about sex.
