3:00 PM (1 vs. 4) Lakeshore Demolition vs. Germany

Game Recap:

Turnovers were the key as team Germany met a determined #1 seed Lakeshore Demolition.  The Demolition lived up to their name with some of the hardest hits of the tournament by the combination of Bryan Kirkland and Joel Wilmoth.

Lakeshore took an early lead with the tough defense they have showed in every game so far and were up by 4 at the end of the first quarter.  They continued pressing Germany and the score at the half was 26-18.  Several key turnovers in the 3rd period extended the lead to 12 and by the end of the final period the Demolition cruised to a final victory of 51-38.
Lakeshore remained unbeaten in the 8th annual Knock and Roll tournament and Team Germany seems to be stll jet-lagged as they have lost to the Denver Harlequins and the Lakeshore Demolition.

Final Score: 51-38  (Lakeshore Wins)

4:30 PM (2 vs. 5) Team Canada vs. Hoveround Gunners
Final Score: 41 - 44 (Hoveround with high score, but Canada Wins due to forfeit)

6:00 PM (6 vs. 3) Denver Harlequins vs. Texas Stampede

7:30 PM (4 vs. 7) Germany vs. South Florida
Final Score: 44-46 (South Florida Wins)

Sunday - January 13, 2008

9:00 AM (6 vs. 7) Denver Harlequins vs. South Florida

Game Recap:
South Florida has started to gel.  First, with a big win over Germany, and then came out strong against a tough Denver team.  Three turnovers in the 2nd quarter in a period of a minute and a half brought Denver down by 8. After two back to back penalties by the Rattlers, Denver used strong defense to end the half 24-19.  It wasn't until the 4th quarter, after a back and forth scoring, that the Rattler's pressure caused some Denver turnovers. The Rattlers increased their lead to 8 midway through the period with strong gameplay.  At the end, the Rattlers scored 49 to Denver's 40 points. South Florida, with 3 wins, guaranteed them a 4th place finish in the tournament.

Final Score: 40-49 (South Florida Wins)

10:30 AM (5 vs. 6) Hoveround Gunners vs. Denver Harlequins

Game Recap:
The Gunners forfeited the game due to filling Dave Jenkin's 2.0 position with a 3.0 player, putting them over the 8 point limit.  Denver was playing the 2nd of a back to back game and perhaps their energy was off and the Gunners staked a 2 pt. lead in the first period.  The combination of Mike Whitehead of Team Canada and Nick Springer of Team USA playing together were tough to stop.  Denver took control of the 2nd half. It was 36-31 at the finish of the 3rd, with Denver leading.  The 4th period was good old back and forth Quad Rugby. Final score was 49-43, Denver with an impressive win.

The videos I watched were just fine after you waited for them to download, I just had 2 windows open, while I was watching one part I was downloading the next part. I thought it was great, I haven't seen my brother play since 2000 paralympics in Sydney so I want to thank xAble so much for this opportunity. They even did an interview with him so that was great to see as well.

The streaming part of the video didn't work so well, but I understand there are some technical problems. The video and commentary of the games, same day, if you waited for the video to download, was really good. Tape delay is waaay better than no tape. Thanks xAble, Rob, John, Rob, Kevin, Marco and Ed of course, for the commentary. Will Ableman show up though? Also, thanks for the photocasts. It will be great if we can download video and photos in the future. Good job, hope you keep at it. Bob
