Accessible Cruising on Royal Caribbean

We take an inside look at the accessible amenities on one of the
fabulous cruise ships of Royal Caribbean. Host Elio Navarro tours
the ship with Ron Pettit, Access Manager, in charge of insuring a
great experience for persons with disabilities. He shows off
accessible features such as automatic doors, pool and whirlpool

One of the many challenges of being a student-athlete and the tournament director for a national tournament is returning to the roll of the student, when it is all said and done. At the close of the 2008 National Women's Wheelchair Basketball Tournament, I was quickly reminded of the challenges of being a graduate student and the demands placed on my schedule. However, despite this reminder I was more than excited to help the Women's Division and to host the 2008 tournament. This article is my account for the tournament and the events leading up to it.

CARMEL, IN - April 26, 2008 - Traveling the world is an amazing experience for anyone who chooses to do so; however with unfamiliar places, uncomfortable sleeping conditions and unusual eating habits, it can certainly take a toll on your body. Now, imagine doing this in a power wheelchair - alone. That is just what 29 year old Andrew Shelley did in November 2007. Shelley has Emery Dreifuss, a type of muscular dystrophy that progressively weakens the muscles. However, his physical disability did not stop him from experiencing the trip of a lifetime.

Wheelchair Softball on Xable.com!
Watch the big hits of wheelchair softball this summer on Xable.com! We'll be bringing you several exciting upcoming tournaments. Xable.com is proud to announce that it's the official online broadcaster of the National Wheelchair Softball Association (NWSA).
The NWSA was founded in 1976 and serves as the governing body for wheelchair softball in the U.S. Rules are primarily based on 16-inch slow pitch softball, tailored to wheelchair athletes. The NWSA has more than 30 teams nationwide. Many teams are allied with Major League Baseball (MLB) teams like the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, and Colorado Rockies.

He has cerebral palsy, a disability he's not afraid to laugh at in his routine. He has reached international fame as a star on Comedy Central and the winner of NBC's Last Comic Standing in season number four. He's also a soccer Paralympian, playing for Team USA in the 2004 Paralympic Games.
We recently had a chance to catch up with Josh at the Palm Beach Improv in sunny Florida. We had a great interview with him right before one of his shows.
