I’m 28, I have a BA in Mass Communications (y un minor de Espanol), and I live in the fair city of Minneapolis. I’m also a C6 quad from a diving accident in ‘93 (no it wasn’t competitive diving you idiot). I’ve been known to be a bit snarky too, but that’s for you to decide.
Professionally, I’m the SCI Life columnist for New Mobility magazine. I’m also a regular contributor to Disaboom, Kids on Wheels magazine and United Spinal’s Action magazine. I also work freelance for The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.
And, if you wanna hear my sexy voice and listen to me bullshit for an hour each week, be sure to check out my podcast hosted by XAble.com (every Thurs) called No Free Rides. It’s edgy, it’s in your face, and it’s for disabled women looking for a laugh and for someone (me) they relate to (hey, men can listen too…it’s that good).
Here are other publications/websites that my work has graced: Nerve.com, Playgirl, Whispers from Heaven, 360Mag.com, ThisAbled.com, Evote.com, Ican.com, Halftheplanet.com, The Land, Publisher’s Auxiliary, Mary.com, and N2Arts.com.
Non-professionally, I enjoy traveling on the cheap, hanging out in West Hollywood (thanks to last minute Sun Country dealios), listening to music by the amazing David Bowie, eating sushi and other wacky int’l cuisines (the spicier, the better), cooking for my jet-setting boy, drinking Stoli Raz and Sours, galavanting with the MN Zissou Society, shopping at craphole thrift stores, and pushing my way through the crowds (making sure not to roll over any toes) at the hipster music clubs littering my city.
